Question TGZ install in suse?

Hello. I have some tgz files that I use with slackware and I want my friend to have them. He is a NuB so I gave him SuSE 9.1. Is there a tgz utility, similar to Bash:# installpkg in slackware, for SuSE or other NuB friendly distros??

there's lots of ways to install it, but the problem will be with the dependencies. you can download the source to installpkg and compile it in suse, or just untar the file at /.
tar zxvf packagename.tgz -C /
