I am going to install the tftp server(I am using Red Hat 9).
I used the CD to installed the RPM and restarted the computer.
I use 'setup' from su account. From there, I selected 'System Services' and enter it.
***I didn't find an item 'tftpd' in the menu(there is only a 'tftp')***
I understand 'tftpd' should be seen because I have installed the RPM. Can anyone tell me what's going on and what should I do?
hey!
i dont know if u did this.. but.. just in case..
theres a file/etc/inetd.conf
there u shold have this :
#
# Tftp service is provided primarily for booting. Most sites
# run this only on machines acting as "boot servers."
#tftp dgram udp wait nobody /usr/sbin/tcpd in.tftpd
u have to uncomment the tftp line as this:
#
# Tftp service is provided primarily for booting. Most sites
# run this only on machines acting as "boot servers."
tftp dgram udp wait nobody /usr/sbin/tcpd in.tftpd
Distribution: Just about anything... so long as it is Debain based.

I'm trying to work with TFTP too. The issue I'm having is that I am undable to create files by TFTPing them to my server. I must first touch the file and then I can TFTP data into my newly created file.
I've read the man and I know I must pass -c; however, when I add the -c to my line in inet.conf TFTPD will not work at all.
