Text disappears in OpenOffice after copying to another app

Hi,

Just a quick question and I wonder if anyone has encountered this before.

I am in OpenOffice 1.9 beta... I highlight some words in my document and hit Control-C. I then proceed to Firefox and hit Control-V to paste into Google.

After a while, I went back to OpenOffice, but the text I copied has disappeared from my document.

I believe Control-C is Copy. Why did it execute "cut"?

I would save the doc under a different name - and reopen it. I'd be willing to bet your text is there - it just decided it couldn't remember how to draw it

I am not familiar with the versioning for OOo - I do know, however, that I attended a class last week at work - where the instructor was presenting using the Novell version of OOo for SuSe - and it was fantastic. I gave up on OOo a while ago in favor of Office XP on wine - but if the Novell version is any indication - they have come a long way.
