Text Cleaner
I am looking for a little utility that can "clean up" formatting and quoted text when pasting either into an e-mail or document.
The Windows world is full of them; I use one on the Windows platform called The Cleaner. You paste the formatted text in, click a button, and the formatting is removed. This is great for pasting text from documents and web pages into word processing documents and e-mails. I did a search here and found some posts from 4-5 years ago; I also tried googling the term "text cleaner" and Linux and didn't really see anything. Lots of recommendations that were said to be compatible with Linux, Windows, Mac, etc., weren't, so if anybody knows of any such thing for the Linux platform I would appreciate a tip. If I am understanding you correctly, you can do this in OpenOffice. Just click "Edit->Paste Special..." and then select "Unformatted Text" in the dialog that will come up.
I don't know of any stand-alone tools to do this, though. |
I'll try that and see if it works, thanks.
