Text-based installation?

I'm a moron when it comes to Linux so please bear with me.

at http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...+drivers+video the posters have indicated how to install a video card driver.

How can I put the driver into my drive in the first place?

So there only way to put the files in hard drive is by downloading the software. So there's no way to put the files via discs?

Also, how can I connect to the internet at the command prompt?

try 'links www.nvidia.com/object/unix.html'

I would just give you the link to the driver to download with 'wget' but you need to pick the correct one for your system/device.
