Question Terminal Windows does not open?

Hi guys,
I am running the latest version of Fedora. Some times when I try to open a terminal, it pops up turns black and then closes itself. Why does that happen. I have to restart the computer to stop this from happening. Can some one please give me a solution. Yes I am a new user.

Hit Ctrl+Alt+F4 to go to tty4, which is a full screen bash shell, then when you want to go back to X, then hit Ctrl+F7
