Terminal Window with no text

Hello,

I have been running RedHat 9.0 on my laptop for months and yesterday for whatever reason when I am logged in as pawlu (user) and Terminal Window would execute when I clicked on the desktop icon, but there is no text.

If I log out of user mode and go back in as root the Terminal Window is fine.

I tried to copy the .gnome-terminal desktop file from the root home directory to the user's home directory assuming that there is a problem with the configuration, but unfortunately this was not case or the correct file to copy.

Any suggestions on the fix or the files used by Terminial Window would be appreciated.

/pawlu

Try to install a new shell or reinstall the old one.
Here's a list of them:

"xterm" seems to be the most common.
