Question Terminal Services on Fedora Server with Windows Clients for Multiuser Quickbooks App

Hello all... I am trying to find a way to use a Fedora 1 server running terminal services to host a multi-user quickbooks windows application (a special industry edition.) Citrix is way beyond our needs and I am just now looking into Win4Lin, but that too seems to be costly and beyond our needs.

This is for a linux dedicated server we use as our web host. So far, VPN is not practical for hosting the quickbooks file. We would rather not switch webhosts to a dedicated windows server nor use a third party ASP (most of which don't support our industry specific quickbooks app anyway.) Does anyone have a suggestions for this kind of setup?

Thanks a ton,
~ bryan

Ok, then. I refrained from posting last night.

First, Linux Terminal Server is not a replacement for Citrix or Windows Terminal Server when you need to run Windows applications. You just can't emulate a Windows Terminal Server environment on Linux without running a Windows Virtual Server - so you have to buy Windows Server or Citrix anyway. So, "it can't be done... There is no cheap Wine like app that will allow multi-user terminal connections".

Second, you could run the application on Samba shares. However, this is really stupid. You never want your sensitive data and especially not any Quickbooks data on an internet exposed webserver. Don't do it, no way, no how. Buy another server and put it behind a firewall.

In the end, it will cost your company far more if they don't pony up the money for a separate server.
