terminal error?


help....! got no text when i open the terminal?

The error message says: There was a problem with the command for this terminal: Text was empty (or contained only whitespace)

the distro im using is ubuntu 9.4, ultimate edition

Looks like maybe you somehow set your shell to /bin/true or something. Are you able to get a terminal from a getty? Ctrl+Alt+F2 to switch to getty2, Ctrl+Alt+F7 to get back to X.

ive also been using the quake terminal.

yes i can?
ive also been using the quake terminal, this works fine.
