telnet url handler ?

Is there anyway to get mozilla to follow a telnet:// link ?

According to mozilla, it is a known problem for linux :

"URLs using telnet:// do not work in Linux (and other UNIX systems). telnet:// URLs work for Win32 and MacOS. Workaround: Install protozilla from http://protozilla.mozdev.org/. (Bug 33282) "

I am monkeying with protozilla, but does anyone have another solution ?

Is this a problem for every browser on linux or just mozilla/netscape ?

am I the only one that finds this problem annoying ?

I'm not sure if this will help or is going to be of any use to your situation but you can get telnet java applets that you would embed into your web pages. (sorry I don't have any links - you could try sourceforge though).

Yeah actually the protozilla works decent. It comes able to launch an xterm window and a telnet session to the ip address in the link.

Not too bad, and easier than changing all the web pages. I guess it's not that big of a deal, I guess I just expected it to be built in.

Does anyone have this trouble with other browsers ?
