I thought foreseeing and such were abilities of certain sort of persons (considered witches etc. in the past), and thus not available to everyone. So if computer programs could do it, should we burn all computers to get rid of witchcraft?

I don't remember a lot of names, but I think there's a program called Astrolog, maybe check it out? I've never heard of tarot software, but it might be because I don't do it myself

Oh, and then there's...
Code:
fortune
Which may say something like this:

Astrolog is a fairly basic astrology program, with a rather ugly user interface. I couldn't get the Linux version working, but the Windows one runs under Wine.

There's a new astrology program called Oroboros, written in Python. I haven't been able to try it, as I can't get PyQt working, but it sounds interesting.

Both are at Sourceforge. As for me, I'm still using my old (1980s) home-brewed program, written for a QL and running under an emulator!

Hi,

There are several good astrology programs for Windows but not much for Linux.
This astrology program is free(Linux, Windows, MacOS):

Tarot and Astrology-related sites often have some PHP or JavaScript driven gimmicks to produce horoscopes and Tarot-readings. I suggest to do an info-hunt on sites for PHP/Perl/JavaScript/Java developers - maybe there is some script available. Depends on your needs how these can fit into your expectations.

For more sophisticated software you will need Windows applications (could run using Wine), for the simple reason that convincing output needs a lot of background data (those ephemerid things, etc) and visuals - it's quite a lot of implementation work, takes a lot of time, and fortune-tellers have a tendency to request money for services. That could be the reason why they avoid open-source and Linux.
