Hi All...

Could anyone please let me know how to take postfix mail backup and restore it back in redhat linux 9 server. As I'm going to install new server and migrate all mail server configuration to new server.

hi,

you take backup of all mail user accounts by using dump 0uf /dev/st0 /home
and restore it back by using restore -rvf /dev/st0 ( scsi magnetic tape),

Hi Praveen...

Thanks for your reply, but I don't have scsi magnetic tape in my redhat linux postfix mail server, but I do have samba installed in it and access to the server through winxp client, is it ok if I manually copy the files of mail database folder and restore it back to the new server mail database folder, also please let me know the where mail data are stored in the server.

expecting your early reply.

Thank you

I need the user should have roaming profile. If i am aware to create NFS users and that home directories to mount on each client, but how to create existing users to make NFS users and how we need to move these home directories to NFS server. Please help me out this issue.
