system_bus_socket doesn't exist after installing dbus
Hello! I have the following problem i try to install dbus to RHEL-5.2 from archive : dbus-1.2.16.tar.gz. I install to /usr folder. Make and install successful. But when i try to run avahi-daemon, i get the following problem:
[root@localhost /]# avahi-daemon
Found user 'avahi' (UID 70) and group 'avahi' (GID 70).
Successfully dropped root privileges.
avahi-daemon 0.6.16 starting up.
WARNING: No NSS support for mDNS detected, consider installing nss-mdns!
dbus_bus_get(): Failed to connect to socket /usr/var/run/dbus/system_bus_socket: No such file or directory
WARNING: Failed to contact D-Bus daemon.
I explore the /usr/var/run/dbus folder, however there is no system_bus_socket file! However after run ./configure script, it says that install system_bus_socket to /usr/var/run/dbus. Why the file not exist? Please tell me.
