System Turning Off Monitor After A Few Minutes
Hey All,
Sorry if this is a total noob question, but I am stuck on this one. I just installed suse 10.0 and everything is working awesome. I turned off the screensaver (personal annoyance), but after 5 minutes or so of unactivity, the monitor goes black and I have to move the mouse and log back in.
I know how to change the settings in Windows to stop this from happening, but I cannot find them in suse. I am running GNOME (newest version I believe).
And I would not really care except I use my machine to watch DVDs and videos sometimes and all of a sudden in the middle of the movie it will do this.
Thanks for any and all help in advance. If I need to clarify anything or provide any more info just let me know. Thanks!!

Hi Linux216
I'm using Ubuntu (which is still Gnome) so things may be a little different -- moderate the following accordingly...
Go to Computer > Desktop Preferences > Screensaver
(I've got XScreenSaver 4.16)
Then to the Advanced tab.
Check out your settings under 'Display Power Management'...

Thanks for your reply. I don't seem to have that option though. Anyone else?

Don't have which option??
Any recent version of Gnome has screensaver (In Redhat 4, it's under applications-->preferences)--is it the Advanced tab that is missing?

FC4 KDE just upgraded to 2.6.15-1.1833_FC4
I have no such button and now some of my screensavers do not work
even in setup.
