System status bar?

Hi all,

I've been searching the Internet for a system status kde app bar (e.g. shows current CPU usage, RAM, processor temp etc.) but I can't find one. I've seen these verticle bars all over the internet in people screenshots and I want one.

I'm pretty sure there are applets which dock to the right hand side of the screen in KDE which show this sort of information. Where can I download this?

Hope I make sense!

Thanks in advance,

Mike :)

Never used a KDE applet for it, but Torsmo and Gkrellm are usually the ones peoples use. The first is great, run on the background and is extremely customizable. The second is much more popular and is the side bar you were referring to. I don't like gkrellm :)

When I was on KDE I used to add a ksysguard applet, then you can drag & drop items from ksysguard to be displayed in your bar.

Many of the more fancy kind of bars on screenshot nowadays are done using superkaramba, have a look at www.kde-look.org under the superkaramba category, will give you some ideas.

you probably want karamba or super-karamba. I like the idea of this... it fills up your CPU and then tells you that it is... handy!

Many thanks guys.

I'm going to give each of your suggestions a try and see what suits best.

Cheers,

Mike :)
