system hangs up on booting when starting bond0

I am trying to do the NIC bonding on RHEL4. Because of some mess i want to reconfigure the whole thing. But when i reboot the system it hangs up on starting bond0. How can i disable this. So that I can go ahead and do the things by scratch.
