Yes, it's MBs not GBs. But here is the only place I know of, where the system actually accumulates data on a regular basis.

Yes i can't think of another directory too but he just needs to clean up /var/log and his $HOME or buy another disk and put his $HOME directory on that drive.

I don't understand how it could get so far ... i mean he must have gotten a warning of some kind? But none of my business actually, not my problem. We got this two solutions and well, this should work.

Umm, I just thought of something else. If he has a cron job which periodically downloads some data / updates / whatever the same problem would result. Have you, charm200?

yes! u r right. But............
the machine from where i am getting problem is a official machine. so manipulating is a very very responsible work to me @ this machine. kipping the important configurations unchanged do u think resize the partition (specially the root from where the problem of free space is coming)is safe.
if yes then plz tell me the way to resize the partition...................

actually some think wrong is happening @ this machine for this the crisis of free space is happening every day. after freeing up the space, it is being full within 1 to 1 1/2 days..........

if any extra information u need about this machine plz tell me. i will try to inform u that.....
