Ok back to my question. I want to reinstall my whole redhat system. BUT. I have a lot of scripts and "crap" in the old system. is a redhat 9 . I have 5 user that have filled up about 20gb of files. Now I want to reinstall a fresh new redhat 9 . so i can install mail server with it. I know i have the alternative to install it "describe: " like just download it and tar it and install it. but i want to install gui system . and all sort of stuff. I want to spend my friday with the redhat. . So. How do I do it? Thanks. My smile will never loss. so do your's. |
Make a back-up of your /etc directory.
And I assume that your /home is in a separate partition. Copy your /etc directory somewhere in your home directory. Then reinstall RH9, deleting everything except you /home partition. And make your old home partition your new home partition. Then create the users and .... mission accomplished! |
