syslog stopped!

After fiddling with my IPTABLES script, I was adding a bunch of "log-prefix" statements in order to make my logs easier to read, I noticed syslog stopped working. At first I thought it was because I had erased /var/log/syslog* and syslog choked. So I restarted the process "/etc/rc.d/rc.syslog restart" and ran nmap.php against myself and I got nothing in my logs. I don't understand, the packets are reaching me, they are getting dropped as usual but not logged. Is syslog queuing the log entries for later? I'm 99% sure I ddin't do something wrong with my firewall script log statements.

Nevermind it's wokring now. *sigh* It almost feels like Windows behavior. *ugh*

So that's the most probable source of your problem.

Hope you have not restricted the lo (loopback) interface.

Oops ... missed the last line ... that you have resolved the problem.
