Syslog-ng installation problem
I recently installed centOS on an old box and used yum to install syslog-ng.
Install goes fine however when I try to run it I get this msg: [root@linux proc]# service syslog-ng start Starting syslog-ng: Error opening file /proc/kmsg for reading (Permission denied) Error initializing configuration, exiting. [FAILED] I have been searching for a couple hours and can not figure it out. Anyone also experience this problem? |
Hope this helps;

...and it that doesn't help try this: having problems with syslog-ng on an SeLinux aware machine. The kernel will not allow me to open up /proc/kmsg for kernel messages..
