syslog daemon problem "rsyslogd was HUPed"

I sometimes get the error "rsyslogd was HUPed"

(rsyslogd: [origin software="rsyslogd" swVersion="5.8.5" x-pid="1117" x-info="http://www.rsyslog.com"] rsyslogd was HUPed)

and the syslog stops 'sorting' the log.
what could it be?

See 'man rsyslogd', the SIGNALS part about 'kill -HUP' vs restart?
