Hi, I know there are many threads about syncing bookmarks across browsers/platforms on the same machine, but what about syncing bookmarks across machines?

I have two main machine that I use to serve the web, one at home and one in my lab.
And I irregularly add bookmarks to both of them so that makes them out of sync in a very short time. When I want to sync them, I will:
(1) download the bookmarks.html to the home machine, import the bookmarks into the bookmarks manager, then manually locate the difference.
(2) Then, I will upload the merged bookmarks.html to the lab machine. But since I am doing this manually, I don't know how accurate my work has been.

So, what would you do if you are me?

p.s. I tried using diff to spot the differences but with the bookmarks icons embeded in the bookmarks.html file it is very hard to read...

I got the same problems as I move between 3/4 machines, so have been using Flock for the last month or so. As it pulls in your bookmarks from del.icio.us and sorts them based on tags, means you always have the most up-to-date list whenever you launch your browser. del.icio.us allows you to import your bookmarks.html file straight into their system so you don't have to manually enter them all. As Flock is basically built of Firefox, there's not much different, although they haven't quite got all the extensions + themes working. Is worth a look though.

The hands-down best way to synchronize Firefox bookmarks is the Synchronize bookmarks extension you can add-on. As long as you have access to an FTP or WebDav server, you can synchronize and merge bookmarks from multiple machines into a single file. It is by far my favorite Firefox extension.
