Synaptic Fails to start


Ok I installed apt and synaptic and I have brought up the synaptic package manager to install programs.Now this morning for some weird reason when I click to bring it up it shows on the bottom starting synaptic package manager.Well then it goes away and never shows itself.I have tried as root and on my user side with the same.Anyone have a clue what happened and know the fix

try starting it in a terminal, and see what errors it comes up with...
