Sym link disaepears after shut down/restart

I've installed xine and it works great when the sym link is in place to tell it where the cd rom is. The problem is that the sym link disappears after I shut down my machine. When I restart it I have to redo the sym link and then it's fine again until I shut down.

I've created an alias to do the sym link for me so I don't have to continue typing it out One day I may make a script to do it at boot up, but I have more to learn before I do that.

In short, I need to find out why the link keeps being deleted at shutdown and force it to stay put.

I'm funning FC3.
