Hello! I have a curious problem in Gnome3 in my Ubuntu 12.10 installation. I have a few programs that "hide" their window when I press the close button (e.g. Splashtop). I do not know how to get the window to reappear. When I try to click the Splashtop icon a window appears saying "Splashtop is already running". I have tried all sorts of modifiers when clicking it (Ctrl, Shift, Alt, Middle button, Right button)... nothing. The icon is "highlighted", leading me to believe it IS actually running (I was unable to find it via "ps" or "netstat" however).
This problem also happens with "wine" windows and a few other applications.
Is there any good way to quickly switch between ALL windows, or at least get a decent list of running programs in Gnome3?
Thanks!
I have a 64bit quad-core system, Ubuntu 12.10 (quantal), Gnome3-shell (not Unitity):
uname -a:
Linux ------- 3.5.0-25-generic #39-Ubuntu SMP Mon Feb 25 18:26:58 UTC 2013 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
In GNOME 3, to see the Notification Area (nee Tray), you must move your mouse to the lower right of the screen, then you'll see the notification area with your tray icons.
