Switching identities in Kmail

How do you switch identities in Kmail1.5.3? Not obvious in the menus or in the Kmail handbook. I have two email addresses at the same ISP and set up two email addresses and two identities for each email address, IdentityA for address a@isp.com and IdentityB for address b@isp.com.

I don't see where you can switch identities to check incoming mail from the other address. There is a menu option File -> Check Mail In that allows you to check incoming mail from different servers, but no option to allow you to check incoming mail for different addresses at the same server. Am I missing something obvious?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think you should do this through Settings-Configure Kmail - Network - receiving.
Add both your identities. Then they should both be checked. It works for me (although I have different ISPs).

Thanks - I was confused by what Kmail set up as the default in that menu. I should have explored further by clicking on the "Modify..." button.

OK how do you send from either identity

OK I understand that you can receive mail from both identities at the same time, however what if I want to send from 1 identity one time then another the next. How do I do that?

Gkenn69,

It is possible to send from your "other identity" with kmail (I'm using V1.5). Either:

1] Create a new login / user for each identity, and configure kmail for each user.

or

2] Click on "New Message"
A mail window appears.
Change the "From" field to what you want.
