Cool Swing 1.1 or 1.2 and CLASSPATH

This is a bit of a noob question..

How do I check to see if a package (swing 1.1 or 1.2) is the in CLASSPATH? What is the command to view the CLASSPATH and/or change it?

I am trying to get the APC UPS monitoring agent for linux running and the install fails because Swing 1.1 or 1.2 isn't in the CLASSPATH.

Thank you in advance

Jboo
