SWAT doesn't display globals, shares, printers, etc.

Platform SuSE 11.0 - 64-bit

Samba is working and I can access Windows from Linux and Linux from Windows. I can log into SWAT as root and everything looks fine, but only the View page is working. The view page shows the content of my smb.conf file, but most of the fields are empty on the globals page. When I enter a value and commit changes, nothing happens (the value isn't retained and smb.conf doesn't change). I can select a share on the shares page, but nothing is displayed. After installation, I noticed that most of the symbolic links for help were missing. I added these, but wonder if I missed some other required links. Swat has always worked for me on 32-bit SuSE.

Thanks.
