SVN working copy locked error updating e17 sources.

I am trying to install enlightenment on top of debian lenny using easy_e17.sh and I get an error

svn: working copy 'esmart/doc/html/images' locked

So I go run svn cleanup in the offending dir as well as with an absolute path but I get another error

svn: error processing command 'modify-wcprop'
svn: 'esmart_big.png' is not under version control

I've tried clearing /tmp and retrying every possible step as well all to no avail. Any ideas?
