Cool suse9.0 videolan player won`t run

Have installed the vlc player using rpms from Packman. Yast says all is fine with dependencies satisfied. ive used kvlc and vlc to run the programme but nothing happens.

I opened a shell and typed kvlc and this is what I got.

tony@linux:~> kvlc
VLC media player 0.7.1 Bond
Inconsistency detected by ../sysdeps/generic/dl-tls.c: 72: _dl_next_tls_m odid: Assertion `result <= _rtld_local._dl_tls_max_dtv_idx' failed!

Anybody have any idea were i have gone wrong, any help appreciated.
