That doesn't sound too much like a problem to me

First things first, make some room for 3 new partitionsor more.

One doesn't need to be bigger than 500MB : that's for swap.
One will be for the system,
the other for the users files.
You could have other partitions for /opt /var but you can do without.

Then start installing. Suse should be quite easy to install.

Another bit of advice, get a more recent version of Suse, you won't regret it.

An finally, go to the newbie forum. Some helpers have posted links to great new starters sites.

Thanks for that piece of advice. But there is one problem. My installation for Suse7 goes well but when I must set my resoluiotn and various settings it won't test it and doesn't go through.

In the explantion bar it says that I may use sax but I have no clue how to do that.

Can you please explain how do I do my graphical, resolution etc...

Thanks
Tyron

Sorry, but I can't help very much about Suse

That's what I meant about getting a more recent version. You probably can fix that problem, but chances are you won't have to bother if you try 8.2 or better 9.0.

If you are in the UK, mdk 9.2 is the linuxformat cover disk and will soon be available for free download. That's an easy install. But according to what I've read here and there, Suse 9 is also really worth a try.
