Angry SUSE won't Format Floppy Disk

I'm using SUSE 9.1 and when I use KFloppy to format a floppy disk is doesn't work. The disk I format in Windows XP works fine when using them in SUSE, but when I try re-formating them with KFloppy it screws up my disk. When the program screws up the disk I can reformat them in windows and they work fine again. So something is wrong with KFloppy that it isn't formating them properly. Any help would be appreciated.

probably you will have to use the command line.

I usually format the floppies with fdformat /dev/fd0. Then I create a filesystem with mke2fs if needed, but usually i use them for images which doesn't need a filesystem.
