SuSE vsftpd ssl problem
I hope that someone can shed some light on this
I have a SuSE FTP server live on the web. The server is setup to allow only OpenSSL connections, however when I try to connect to the server using SSL only, the connection times-out with the following error "SSL/TLS error - 0 error - 1" "SSL Connection not established".
In the VSFTP and firewall logs I can see an allowed connection taking place, but it never gets as far as asking me to accept the certificate that I have created.
There is only one place where I can connect using OpenSSL and that is from home, where I built the server. The only thing that I can think of it that it has someting to do with the internal IP address range that I use as I built the server with an internal IP address first and then changed it to an external IP afterwards.
The server has no internal interface as the company I work for would not allow it. (They view it as a security risk)
I have tried 'make clean' on the vsftp installation to no effect.
Additionally the server is only using its built-in firewall at the moment (trial investigation to test the firewall software).
Here is a list of the versions that I'm currenlty using
VSFTPd 2.0.1
SuSE 8.2 Pro
SSL 0.9.6i-21
SSH 3.5p1-117
CoreFTP lite 1.3 build 1402
