SuSE Install, Wont boot b/c of Hz problem.

Hello guys....
I ordered the 'Linux Technical Resource Kit' from Novell.
It shipped here in about a month (sweden).
I had Windows XP Pro running at the arrival and decided to get rid of XP and try SuSE. I booted from the DVD and the EXTREMELY user friendy boot screens showed. I followed all the instructions as usual.
Here's some comp specs:
P4 2.66 (non-ht)
512MB TwinMos PC2700
120gig WDC harddrive
ASUS motherboard with onboard LAN/Audio
GeForce FX5600.....

When i boot up, everything is fine, until the SuSE cameleont disappears.
The monitor clicks and says Sync is out of range (39Khz and 49Hz) 49Hz, whats up with that?

My current monitor is a SAMSUNG SyncMaster 957P
I tried with an old 15" monitor. It did the same thing, except i could see some of the KDE splash screen. For about 4 seconds, then it went blank black.

Can someone point out the obvious reason?

(yes, this is my first time with SuSE/Linux)

Thanks for all the help guys.

I've not understand well if the problem is with the screen or with KDE.

To test it try pass in text mode pushing the Crtl+Alt+F1 keys

If the system work ( try to login and to navigate for example ) the problem is with your screen configuration.

To change the screen configuration run xf86cfg.
