SuSE 9 + VMware 4 = disaster, help!!!
I've installed a fresh new copy of SuSE 9.
h/w Abit NF7 mobo Athlon 2700+ CPU 1 gb ram ATi radeon 9800 Pro video 3com 3c905c-tx nic SuSE Linux 9 Pro, kernel 2.4.21-99 Athlon. I also have vmware v4.0.5 build 6030 (oct 2003, the newest build). I've installed it, but I get an error when running the config program: None of vmware's built-in vmmon modules is suitable for my running kernel. It then asks to create one from my source code. It creates, but with a bunch of errors - a repetition of an error saying that a use of a memory input without lvalue in asm is depreciated. Upon running emulation, the machine works for a couple of minutes but then hangs. I've created a new session for a different OS, installed it, and it locks up too. I looked for preconfigured vmmon modules on vmware's website and found nothing. Has anybody else had the same problem? Thx! |
