SuSe 9.1 Pro/Sendmail/Setup/Problem

OS: SuSe 9.1 PRO

I want to run a very SMALL forum on the webservice.. I have setup a test forum at this point and wish to allow emails from/to the server.

For example I want admin@mydomain.com (me) to be the listed email for the forum. which is also XXX.mydomain.com.

I seem to be able to send OR receive email but NOT both at the same time.

this is based on the /etc/mail/local-host-names file.

If I ADD the mydomain.com to the list I can receive email from anyone to anyone with MAIL access such as root@mydomain.com or user@domain.com ect ect. if the user does not exist the mail is returned as it should be.

BUT when I add this information to the /etc/mail/local-host-names I am unable to send any mail to anyone.. I want to be able to send emails as the forum will send out a verification email when someone new joins.. Or if I use the admin tool to spam all its members

I'm not looking to do more than be able to receive email from anyone (to anyone listed on the server is MAIL security access.) and allow the forum to send out it's needed emails from the SENDMAIL. to anyone thats listed as long as the email address is valid ect. ect.

(added bonus!: I would love to be able to pop3 into the server and poll the emails from any of the accounts preset.. I haven't the slightest idea how to do that.. I have messed with that and can't get it to work at all.. so If your interested in throwing your hat into the ring with that info as well you would be my bestest friend.. )

Thank you for any assistance you can offer!
