SuSE 9.1 Pro Bootsplash not working

I did a fresh install of SUSE 9.1 Professional; and the bootsplash screen isnt working. When its starting up, i get the following messages about bootsplash:

bootsplash: looking for pictures.......no good signatures found

I have tried reinstalling it, but it doesnt work. I also get this message, but im not sure if its related:
/sbin/splash: /dev/null: Readonly filesystem

I have had to play around alot with my video card/monitor (radeon 7000, compaq 7550), and at the end of the installation when it was initializing my monitor/graphics card, it went to a blank screen and stoped responding.

Thanks if you can help!!
