Angry Suse 9.1 + Oracle 10.0 = 0!

Hello,

Trying to install Oracle 10.0 under the Suse 9.1 distribution. Every time I try to start the installer (even when logging in as root), I get:

Xt error: cannot open display "localhost:0.0"

xsetroot -> unable to open display

xhost +<localhost> -> unable to open display ""
ksplash -> cannot connect to server

I had tried xhost+, had reset the DISPLAY still nothing but the same error. As far as I can tell, these "cannot open display" errors do not seem to have any kind of answer to them - other than to play hide and go seek for an answer.

Regards,
Mufasa

I wouldn't mind knowing what you did to solve the problem. I've been encountering a similar problem with another Java product and no matter what I set the display to, xhost + fails and I can't run the program for the user. I can run it as a different user.

I don't know if it is a SUSE specific thing?

Thanks..
