SuSE 9.0 / MP3 creation

I couldn't find it at first glance in the manual, so could somebody give
me a hint if and if yes with which programs it is possible to rip a (unprotected) music cd and convert it to mp3? Distribution is SuSE 9.0.

BTW it's still legal to rip a cd and convert the content to mp3 for my
private use (which I intent to only) here in my country.

Best regards and thanks in advance

gRip should work just fine for you.

i experienced the same problem with suse 9.0 pro, suse comes with grip and kaudiocreator but it only comes with ogg encoding and wav encoding capibilities. It acts like it detects the lame mp3 encoder but it doesnt, so i guess the best way to rip to mp3 is use grip and get a decent mp3 encoder. I didnt like using .ogg that much because it would keep a constant bitrate while playing, it sounded good just stuff like that bugs the shit out of me real bad.
