But is there really any problems with the way I did it? Can that explain why I got all these errors and my modules aren't loading? I takes quite a while to recompile the kernel sources and I'm not sure that that will do any good. I mean it shouldn't make a difference if I first compile my sources in my home directory and then move it all to the /usr/src directory before I install it, should it?

as written here i treid to exec sbin/generate-modprobe.conf /etc/modprobe.conf

...this faild with the message couldnīt find modprobe.modutils

what can i do ?

Silly question maybe, but when I saw this I had to ask - where can I get the 2.6 kernel rpms forSuSe 9? I had the ones for 2.6.1, but after I hosed my system I can't find them anymore
