suse 10.2 remove php5 and reinstall

Hi,

im trying to solve the Topic above for hours now.
I only have an ssh access so no X11.
I need to remove php and reinstall a previous version or compile it myself cuz suse patched the php versions manually and now certain programs wont run anymore.
I tried to remove php with rpm -e --nodeps php5 i dont know if this is enough already but if im tryin to deinstall it by YaST2 but there are so many dependencies that there is simply no way to remove everything related to php. Anyhow if it came to compiling it manually i got the following error:
Code:
checking whether the C compiler (gcc ) works... no
configure: error: installation or configuration problem: C compiler cannot create executables.
Maybe you know a good way to downgrade or anything else.

Hi and welcome to LQ.

You need to make sure that you have gcc and glibc-devel installed.
