surveillance software that records audio and video

I have 4 video surveillance cameras with built-in microphones. The original VHS based recorder died and so I decided to build a PC based DVR for surveillance recording. Q-See will soon be shipping the QSPD4104 video/audio capture card that can capture both video and audio from 4 camera/microphone combos. (They also have the QSPD4114 with 16 a/v inputs) Is there surveillance software that can record both video and audio from multiple camera/microphone combos?

not sure if it can do all 4 at once, but vlc (www.videolan.org) can record audio and video from input sources and as long as each input is configured as a separate device or has some unique way of identifying them then vlc can be scripted to rotate among the devices every few seconds, and perhaps it can read them all at once by using multiple instances of vlc but i've never tried

vlc can also be set to stream video remotely
