Question Supermount solutions?

Hi there!

I use Debian as a OS and I´m having some problems with choosing a automounter such as supermount, but it has got to run on the new 2.6.13 (or 2.6.8 up) kernel. I know that this version of the kernel has automount support but it is does not work as good as the supermount patch works.

So maybe there is a solutions or a better software then these two.
Hope to hear from you soon!

Thanks A LoT!

Bye!

Try;

apt-get remove -y --purge autofs
apt-get install supermount

perl -pi -e 's|/dev(/cdrom\S*).*|\1 \1 supermount fs=auto,dev=/dev\1 0 0|' /etc/fstab
mount -a
for l in $(awk '/\/cdrom/{print $1}' /etc/fstab); do ln -fs $l /mnt$l; done

Will get supermount up and running as well as make the appropriate changes in fstab.

But do I have to install supermount anyway?

Because if I do have to install, it's not possible to patch the latest version of supermount (it's available only for kernels 2.6.8), so what else should I do?

Thanks!

Well, I'm using the 2.6.8 kernel and evrything works fine (supermount and stuff) but I want to upgrade to the 2.6.13 kernel.

I'm gonna give it a try!

I am useing 2-6-13 just fine...I always had supermount since 2-6-8 and it never flagged me as not working with this kernel.
Hmm.brb,let me check something.
