Superkaramba

Hi,

I have installed SuperKaramba on my system and have downloaded and got running numerous "themes" but none of them are working as I think they should be.

For starters none of them are configurable when I right click them, and I have tried over twenty different "themes".

Secondly, a bunch of the system info themes have overlapping text, really fuzzy unreadable text or don't display any information(for example for my internet connection or cpu temp)

I realize that I probably have some work to do to get all of this working, but I need some help to get me on my way.

Thanks so much.

You need to edit the config files directly to alter fonts: right-click->edit->edit theme, make an edit, then reload the theme.

You also need to make sure it's looking at the right internet device, i.e. eth0,wlan0 etc.

As for the CPU temp I think I read somewhere that you need lm_sensors installed? I might be wrong on that though.

Where do I right click to "edit", right now if I right click on the desklet the "configure" option is unavailable. Where do I go to edit?

I'll have to check if I have lm_sensors in my system. I run a dual boot with Windows XP and I know that my cpu temp and fan speed are readable. Also even though the desklets seemed to point to eth0 I still saw nothing. Could it be that my NIC is something else? If so how could I check what the name for the NIC I am actually using is.

Thanks so much. I'm really excited about getting some of these themes running!!

Right click on the applet. "Configure" is greyed out, "Edit" is right above it, at least it is on ubermon-1.21, the one I use.

The "edit theme" menu was removed in recent versions. You'll have to locate the .theme file and edit it manually.
Many system monitor themes dont' have a configure option b/c they weren't written using the python scriptability.
And then the theme author has to code that in.
There are two that I can say for sure use it, Liquid Weather and Aero monitor.
