super karamba install..?

i downloaded superkaramba-0.36.tar.gz

./configure ran ok until the end where it came up with this:

Code:
checking for Qt...
configure: error: Qt (>= Qt 3.1 (20021021)) (library qt-mt) not found. Please check your installation!
For more details about this problem, look at the end of config.log.
Make sure that you have compiled Qt with thread support!
i have installed all possible qt packages - version 3.3.4-17

what can i do..?

Most peculiar - I upgraded to 9.3 from 9.1 and 9.2 with no effect on my Super Karamba main install but did lose the weather!

What did the config.log say?

Do you have the QT3-devel or any of the other QT3 related packages installed?

For info I have: QT3 version 3.3.4-11.3 with the developer packages but no debug packages installed.

A quick read of the dependancies in Yast for the main QT3 and developer packages reveals "libqt-mt.so.3" which I quess is what you might be missing. This should install as part of QT3 by my reckoning. Correct me if I'm wrong here!

qt3

I installed all qt3 pkgs. via yast. Takes only a minute and not too much disk space. You should then run ./configure again and all will be fine. If you have any further errors during "make", just install the appropriate missings pkgs or post back if there are problems or if you are unsure.

Thumbs up

prj

thanx for your quick reply

your comments directed me to check the qt dependencies on my server box (which is the one on which i wanted to install super karamba) btw - it's a 64 bit suse9.3pro version..

this led me to try an install on my laptop - which runs a 32 bit version..

and guess what - it worked on the laptop..!

so i'm now almost sure the karamba does not work on a 64 bit version - at least not to my knowledge..
i'm sure some wizzard can tell me the tweak to do to make it work on a 64 bit box..?

have a good night in South Wales..

o - oohh..wait..wait..

while i was writing my last reply - the karamba was full speed ahead doing a 'make' on my laptop - and while i took my eyes off - to write the reply - i did not notice that it was 'screaming' at me in red letters that something is wrong with python..??

now i'll have to try and install more packages and then see if it'll work..

thanx also mkoljack in Chicago..

Half a result then!

My boxes are all 32 bit so not experienced with the intricacies of these new fangled 64 bit things.
QT4 RC is here now with QT4 due out at the end of June so that may offer some help.

Good luck with finding a solution.

ok guys - i'm almost embarrased to post this output - but after installing absolute all packages from a qt query and a python query in yast - i did another attempt to initiate a 'make' on my 32 bit laptop - and this came out:

According to the SuperKaramba site this seems to indicate you need the "python-devel" package installed.

Have a look at SuperKaramba FAQ for more on this.

Edit - just found this on the SuperKaramba forum which might also help.
