The install GUI fails with a logfile entry that libfreetype.so.6 is a required dependency. When I look under /usr/lib/, I do find the file libfreetype.so.6. I am installing under /usr/local/src/000310_m11_native_packed-2_en-US.9399/. I made a symbolic link from libfreetype.so.6 to the package directory, but this did not help.
Why is this program failing because of a dependency on a file that is installed and even linked to the package directory? Any ideas on how to get this install working?
I don't know what is the install GUI you're talking about, but if you want to install OO in slackware, either use rpm2tgz to transform the rpms into tgz packages and use installpkg, or use the rworkman's build
