suggestions for friendly PHP IDE?

I come from a windows background and I always used to develop my sites using Dreamweaver. I'm wondering if there is a favorite development environment similar to Dreamweaver on Linux. It doesn't have to have all those fancy features like prebuilt components, just a friendly coding helper type thing, maybe something that keeps track of all the files in my project, updates links when I rename files, etc.

I've tried Quanta, but I'm using Gnome and I find the bloated KDE look really annoying, plus there are a few quirks that I just can't get over. Gedit is a little too simple. It colorizes the code, but it doesn't offer much help beyond that. What are some options I can check out?

Thanks!

For the design part you may want to look at Nvu, a WYSIWYG HTML editor built around Mozilla.

There are loads of good code editors for Linux. I prefer vim/gvim but everyone you ask will have their own opinion.
