sudo: no password prompt but 3 incorrect attempts?

I just installed sudo from source, added myself to sudoers, and restarted. if I try sudo'ing anything, the terminal outputs:
Sorry, try again.
Sorry, try again.
Sorry, try again.
sudo: 3 incorrect password attempts.
However, I'm never even given the chance to enter my password.
The line I added to sudoers is "daweefolk ALL=ALL".
What's wrong?

(1) The line needs to be
daweefolk ALL=(ALL) ALL
If you didn't edit the file using the "visudo" command, shame on you; do that in the future. visudo would not have let you save the file with syntax errors

(2) If that doesn't fix it: not enough information. Inspect /var/log/auth*log or /var/log/secure or wherever your disto puts the auth log for errors.

fixed the file, using visudo.
here's a snippet from /var/log/auth.log:
Nov 6 20:16:37 localhost sudo: daweefolk : 3 incorrect password attempts ; TTY=tty1 ; PWD=/home/daweefolk ; USER=root ; COMMAND=/sbin/iwconfig
There are 12 occurances of this, just differing times.
What I'm confused about is the fact that I'm not even getting a password prompt.
Any other suggestions?
