sudo ethereal with ssh

hey... i have a question

we are having troubles running ethereal with the sudo command and getting the results of ethereal to display on a ssh'd machine with x11 forwarding on

when we ssh and turn x11 forwarding on, then run sudo ethereal, it says something like

connection reset to xserver "localhost:10"
x authentication failed

the remote ssh server is set to allow x11 forwarding, and the user on the remote machine cannot have the root password, nor can have root access
the ssh'd user also has permission to run ethereal with the sudo command

does anyone know why we are getting this error message. and how to fix it

thanks
