Stream .wma and .wmv in Linux
I wonder if it this possible to have a stream-server who streams .wma and .wmv in linux, so other windows and linux users are able to listen to it.
If it is possible then you guys/girls maybe have som tips of which programs i should use. As the dist. I'm planning to use gentoo, but if you have some other alternative you are are welcome to present it for me. Best regards, Pär |
dont stream windows media - use OGG (xiph.org, vorbis.com)
or http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ <<- a very good server. And as for the distro, if u have enough time and machine power and good internet connection , go for gentoo. Else look for some binary distros like ArchLinux, slackware, debian. |
